About David Williams

As a black staff in a predominantly white ministry (Cru) for over a decade was asked to speak frequently to large groups of students and staff on Biblical unity and racial justice. These group talks often led to being asked by students and staff to meet one-on-one, in small groups, or with staff teams to dig deeper. I was brought on to Pastor a predominantly white church (in a predominantly white denomination) primarily for them wanting to learn to live out God's heart more for these areas and me to help guide them into it. I have also worked informally with a number of pastors who desire to grow in this area and desire to lead their congregations to walk this out.

David joined our ministry at a summer training program for college students. He taught our students from the Word, and helped train our staff and student leaders in how to think about ethnic identity, racial issues, and racial reconciliation in light of the gospel. He also joined our ministry when I was at The University of Central Florida, continuing to help our students engage with these realities out of the Word, and continued connecting with a student or two to help them further. David spoke to the heart of the issues, and helped ground the answer in the language and heart of the Bible. I'd love to see David get to share with more people and organizations, as he is unafraid to acknowledge difficult realities while still looking to the Bible for the ultimate answers.

David has been a huge encouragement to me! As a pastor, he helped navigate the challenges of ministry in an fluid context, providing wise insights and practical suggestions for me as a leader. In my current role, as the director of a rapidly growing counseling organization, David has helped me keep my keep my focus on glorifying God and serving others. Anyone who receives coaching from David will gain the opportunity to learn from a man of integrity, humility, and a passion for investing in others.

David Williams is a powerhouse of biblical insight. He is filled with life-wisdom and provides points of practical application as a regular contributor to Moody Radio Chattanooga. Our conversations about racial justice and racial reconciliation are always beneficial for our listeners. David's voice is clear, his message is grounded in scriptural truth, and his presentation is not confrontational, but revelatory. I liken it to the picture of the path of the righteous found in Proverbs 4:18 that is, "...like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." What separates David from the pack is not his message, but his ability to listen. He asks thoughtful questions and listens to you; to know where you are currently, what you are dealing with, and where you wish to go. He then helps you get there by pointing you to biblical truth. In dealing with such a potentially volatile issue as racial relations, the specific skillset David brings to the conversation is invaluable.

Lead Pastor - Christ the King Vineyard Church
When David lived in the Cleveland area he spoke at our church a number of times. He and I would also get together over a meal or a hike and talk about life and ministry. David is a wonder man and a good listener. He is also a good husband and father. His heart for others and God combined with his life experience will make him a good coach.
